Spectacular Aerial Show: FLY SAFE Annecy Lights Up the Sky of Doussard!

On the occasion of the traditional fireworks display in Doussard, the FLY SAFE Annecy paragliding team put on a unique and memorable show for the audience. Combining technical feats and aesthetics, the pilots thrilled the large crowd in attendance.

A perfectly synchronized aerial choreography

At dusk, the paragliders took off from the heights and then lit colorful flares. In perfect harmony, they performed acrobatic tricks, spiral descents, and synchronized flights, leaving behind trails of multicolored smoke that captivated both young and old.

The spectators, gathered along the shores of Doussard, were delighted by the show. This demonstration was the perfect prelude to the fireworks that lit up the sky once night had fallen.

The excellence of FLY SAFE Annecy

Known for its expertise and sense of safety, FLY SAFE Annecy is a team of enthusiasts whose participation in this event showcased that paragliding is much more than an extreme sport: it is an art form in its own right.

An event etched in memories

Between the aerial stunts and the final fireworks display, the evening was a true success, leaving a lasting impression with its originality and beauty. There’s no doubt that this event will be eagerly awaited next year! And a big congratulations to the volunteers from the ski club who run the refreshment stand.

Siv course

With perfect autumn conditions, the 8 students of the SIV course made progress above the lake. The 3-day course program included stalls, closures, spirals, and planet faces... The students, both young and not so young, took advantage of excellent conditions to work on their confidence and try out their new equipment… A successful course for both the students and the Fly Safe team!

The 50th anniversary of the Coupe Icare!

Omar was invited to the 50th anniversary of the Coupe Icare for a group demo with his friends Valentin Delluc and Ugo Gérola. The idea: jump from a helicopter at 2000m with a speed wing, then fly towards the take-offs of Saint-Hilaire to perform a synchronized demonstration in front of the Coupe Icare audience. This project was carefully thought out and required many hours of preparation. Indeed, a plan B was necessary in case the speed wing failed to open or encountered a problem: a wing release system and a parachute on the back. For several weeks, Omar carefully worked on the project and sewed a d-bag (a bag that holds the speed wing), then attached the release system to a harness specifically designed for the project, with the help of his wingsuiter friend, Julien Millot. First tested from a paraglider, the system worked perfectly, and the three friends were able to put on the show for the 50th anniversary of the Coupe Icare. The three wings opened perfectly, and the spectators, under a bright sun, enjoyed a successful demonstration.

Aerial sports practiced by your instructor!

Omar first experienced the thrill of flight through speed riding, a sport that develops a wide range of skills, particularly the ability to make split-second decisions, due to the speed of the speed riding wings. Later on, he discovered the world of skydiving, first becoming a parachute rigger in a drop zone, then completing the necessary training to jump solo. What a joy and sense of freedom to jump from a plane at 4000m! He now has nearly 400 skydiving jumps and 150 base jumps, and his passion takes him to places like Turkey, Italy, and beyond... Omar is a professional tandem pilot and also practices paragliding for leisure, with a preference for acro.
